“Exopen Cloud Platform is one of the most user-friendly systems I've worked with. It's efficient, flexible and gives finance full control.”
Hans-Olof Helmersson, CFO @ Enerco
From manual reporting to automated control – Enerco's path forward
When Enerco Group faced the challenge of bringing structure to a complex finance environment spanning many companies and ERP systems, Exopen became the key to change. With the Exopen Cloud Platform, the group has moved from manual reporting and silos to a flexible, automated finance function – with full control and real-time insights.

About Enerco Group
Enerco Group AB is a Swedish industrial group providing engineering and maintenance services to industrial companies across Sweden. Founded in 2015, it has grown to around 950 employees across 25 offices and 15–20 legal entities. With revenues of SEK 1.4 billion and several business areas, Enerco is a complex organisation that requires effective financial management.
Challenge
When Hans-Olof Helmersson became CFO in 2020, Enerco needed to bring structure to a complex finance environment with many companies and different ERP systems. The group had grown organically and through acquisitions, leaving behind many ERPs and manual processes. Reporting was time-consuming and error-prone, with no consolidated view of group finances.
Month-end closing consisted of two to three reports built manually, followed by copy-and-paste rework – there was simply no structure. Another challenge was the dependency on technical expertise to adjust and update reports.
"When you're sitting late at night closing the books, you don't have time to wait for a programmer."
Solution
Enerco started using Exopen Cloud Platform in 2019, but only in 2020 did adoption take off in earnest.
"We built our reports together with a skilled BI consultant from Exopen. All reports now live as add-ins in Excel, which gives us the flexibility we were looking for."
By loading SIE files from a range of ERPs – Monitor, Visma, Fortnox, Pyramid – Enerco built a common structure for group reporting with shared budget and forecast models. It doesn't matter which systems the subsidiaries use because the SIE files look the same. Numbers can be followed daily.
Today the platform is used by the CFO and several finance leads and controllers across the group, with reports covering cash flow, results per business area and forecasts.
"When something changes in the business – a new unit or business area – it takes less than 10 minutes to bring it into the reporting, with history."
Result
With Exopen, Enerco has reached a new level of control, flexibility and speed in financial management:
- 95% faster to produce reports
- Reporting structure adapts to continuous organisational change – 5 minutes to implement
- Easy to maintain – no programming required
- Forecast and budget models used across all units
- A complete real-time picture
"Exopen Cloud Platform is one of the most user-friendly systems I've worked with. It's efficient, flexible and gives finance full control."
Looking ahead: Cash-flow and factoring simulations are already in use and will be expanded. Enerco is currently building a translation table to further improve subsidiary-to-group reporting, and Power BI will be introduced as a complement for visualisation toward the business areas.
"I think many CFOs want a system like Exopen, where you can do most things yourself without depending on others."
